Service terms
Terms for using SciRedPen
The practical conditions that apply when you upload a manuscript and use an automated review.
Research assistance, not a publication decision
SciRedPen produces automated suggestions that may be incomplete, incorrect, or unsuitable for a particular discipline or journal. It does not replace author judgment, peer review, statistical consultation, ethics review, or journal guidance, and it does not guarantee acceptance or prevent desk rejection.
Your authority to submit material
Submit a manuscript only if you are authorized to send it to the processors named in the Privacy and data page. You remain responsible for confidentiality duties, participant consent, intellectual-property restrictions, institutional policy, and the accuracy and integrity of the submitted work.
Using review outputs
Check every finding, citation result, quotation, and suggested edit against the manuscript and authoritative sources. You decide whether to accept, reject, disclose, or cite assistance from the service under the rules that apply to your work.
Credits and failed reviews
Starting a review reserves a credit. A review that the system records as failed is refunded automatically. Uploading a manuscript without starting a review does not spend a credit. Payment and subscription details shown at checkout control the transaction.
Retention and deletion
Projects are retained for 7 days unless deleted sooner. You can delete before review or after a run finishes. A queued or running review must finish before deletion so the worker is not writing into removed files.
Availability
Model, metadata, storage, and payment services can be unavailable. Export results you need before the retention deadline. The service may reject unsafe, oversized, unreadable, or unsupported files.
